1. Choose a Strong Salesletter
A product should have a compelling Salesletter with catchy headlines. It should also use graphics intelligently and should tell a compelling story emphasizing on product benefits.
2. Test Delivery Responses
Send email to product owners and try if you can get a complimentary copy. Most product developers can provide free copies as long as they know you will be promoting the product. Some will also inquire about your affiliate marketing experience.
3. Determine the Volume of Affiliates
You can find the number of affiliates promoting a product on Clickbank. Look at the 'Gravity' stats and you will see the volume of affiliates. If there are too many affiliates, there will be lots of competition. But this could also mean that the product is performing well.
4. Check for Leaks on the Payment Methods
There are product owners that use different payment methods on the landing pages. If there are other merchant accounts on the page, then this could be a source of payment leaks. Be on the look out for such leaks.
5. Identify the Payout Structure
You should get at least half of the sale price for digital products. Make sure also that you can earn a minimum of $20 for each sale. For real or physical products, the regular payout rates should be 4 to 20 percent.
